The duration of treatment should be tailored to the infection's severity, typically ranging from 5 to 10 days. If no improvement is observed within 5 days, it's advisable to halt the medication. After treatment, to eliminate any residual yellow tint in the water, a 20% water change and the use of a charcoal filter are recommended.
